If there was an award given to the blogger who falls most behind on updating their blog....
I WOULD WIN THAT AWARD!!!
I cannot tell you how many times a day I think about blogging..."that would be a good post" or "this must go on our blog!"
BUT...
I spend 99.9% of my day playing with and taking care of our 12 month old- that is what I love to do! Sitting down at the computer to blog just falls to the bottom of the list (as does doing laundry, cleaning house, etc!)
SO...
Next week my mother-in-law will be here to play with the wee one while Mommy gets some things done. And yes, I hope to do some crazy blogging!
Check back next week for an update on what we've been up to since...(gasp) September

August
August was a fun month for us! We did a little bit of this and that and our little 9 month old continued growing like a weed!
Let's see...
-We completed a major DIY project (more on that later.)
-I took a Wilton cake class at Hobby Lobby (will post pics later.)
-Madelyn turned 10 months old!
Madelyn highlights this month:
-She really began roaming the house exploring; faves: cabinets, drawers, air vents, doors, spring doorstops
-Crawling and pulling up turned into cruising around furniture = daily bumps and bruises
-Board books were no longer chew toys but interesting to look at...fun!
-Tooth #7 made its way in
-Totally transitioned from nursing to bottle (bigger deal to Mommy than Madelyn)
-Developed "Stevie Wonder" impression- Ha! Madelyn started rocking back and forth when we'd sing songs. That turned into swaying side to side. Then she added a little head action, and there you go...Stevie Wonder! :)
She continually cracks us up!!

I was not crazy about putting her in the grass...itchy! But I sucked it up and we played in the yard for the first time.

Quick family outing to the fair. Not so much to do with a little one, but we saw lots of farm animals! Mommy and Daddy had corn dogs...yum!
We sat in a tent while we ate. The band kicked up and Madelyn let loose! (actually...I thought she was going to bust out her Stevie, but she got distracted by some passers by :( cute anyway!)

9 months
At the end of July Madelyn turned 9 months old! Wow! That's how long she was in my tummy! Nine months with a baby seems longer than nine months of carrying a baby!
We went to the doctor for a well-visit. Madelyn weighed just over 20 pounds (75%) and was 28.5 inches long (80%.) Her check up went well; she's growing and developing just as she should be!
In honor of the 9 month milestone we had portraits made. She was so cooperative, smiling and even laughing at the photographer! I was so pleased with all of her sweet pictures!
BTW- Mrs. Cindy Sager smocked Madelyn's precious dress! And this was the first time I put a bow in her hair and it stayed; so exciting!

The Girls
How fun it is to have two babies in the family! My niece, Autumn, is 26 days younger than Madelyn. Those two are a handful! We hope they will have fun growing up together, being so close in age.
They do a lot of the same "baby things," but my, how different their personalities are! Autumn tends to be more of a looker and thinker; she likes to interact with people and cuddle. Madelyn is more of a do-er; always moving around and getting into things, finding something new to do!
When Mom, Holly, and Autumn visited us for a few days, we decided to do a little photo shoot. (Yeah, right!) Here are some of the pics of our two cuties!
A: "Take my picture." M: "Oh, what's this?"
"Hmmm??"
"Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!"
A: "My Mommy is silly."
A: "Who is touching me?" M: "She has hair too!"
A: "Uh...hello?!" M: "Don't mind if I do!"
"Get us out of here!!"
